DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
All programs are for individuals who have dealt with the loss of a biological parent(s).
Daycare Assistance
Offers daycare cost assistance to single parent households in which the death of a spouse has occurred.
Back To School Shopping Assistance
Provides children who have lost a biological parent(s) with the necessary items that will be needed for them to complete the upcoming school year. This includes clothing and school supplies, as well as anything else the organization deems “necessary.”
Financial Support
Assists caretakers or parent(s) of a child who have lost a biological parent(s) with the necessary financial support to care for these children.
Technology Assistance
Assists families with the purchase of technology needed to complete school assignments from home. This is limited to personal laptops only.
Maintain Respect Mentorship Program
A partnership program with Maintain Respect LLC. This program targets males in the 6th, 7th, 8th grade to be a part of a structured, annual program that builds boys into men through professional and personal development. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to: conflict resolution, literacy skills, personal branding, and public speaking.
ACT / SAT Prep
This weekly prep course prepares high school students for the ACT and SAT college entrance exams.
College Enrollment Preparation
Open to students who have an interest in attending college after high school. This program will provide individuals with the necessary tools and resources required to complete the admissions process, as well as helping them with the completion of FAFSA and other collegiate-specific documents.
“Bag Talk” Financial Literacy Program
A development program that promotes financial literacy through partnerships with local financial institutions. The purpose is to spread awareness about the importance of maintaining a budget, establishing credit, and how to handle and pay off debt, among other topics.
College Scholarships
The Michael & Felecia Jenkins Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshmen who are attending accredited colleges and universities. Note: because the number of scholarships awarded and dollar amount per scholarship is determined by the annual operating budget, changes may vary.
Emergency Fund
This emergency fund serves as a safety net for individuals who have dealt with a loss of a biological parent(s). The organization determines what is considered an “emergency,” and once all funds are exhausted, it does not reset until the next fiscal year.
Relocation Assistance
Assists individuals who are attending college away from home for a smooth and stress-free transition into college life.
POST-GRAD Development Program
Assists students with career placement after upon completion of their undergraduate matriculation through corporate sponsor partnerships. This also includes university partnerships for those who pursue a Master’s or Doctoral degree. Open to all majors/degrees.
